WELCOME TO EMIRATES STEEL INDUSTRIES CAREERS PORTAL Emirates Steel Industries (ESI) is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Established in 1998, the firm commenced commercial production of deformed bars in 2001 with a rated capacity of 750,000 tpy. The fully commissioned Phase 1 expansion project has turned ESI into a fully integrated steel plant and added to its production capacity 1.6 million tpy of DRI, 1.4 million tpy of liquid steel, and 1.1 million tpy of deformed bars (620,000 tpy) and wire rod / rebar in coil (480,000 tpy). Under the Phase 2 expansion, ESI will add to its production capacity a further 1.6 million tpy of DRI, 1.4 million tpy of liquid steel; and 1.0 million tpy of heavy and jumbo sections. Commissioning of the DRP is scheduled for Q3 2010, while the steel melting plant will be commissioned in Q4 2010. The HSM will be commissioned by Q1 2012.
